Well, in truth only a few of the bill's new laws will take effect this year. In about six months it will become illegal to deny health
insurance to a child based on a pre-existing condition, and children will now be allowed to stay on their parent's insurance until the age of 26.
Some of the sweeping changes that are part of the groundbreaking Healthcare Reform Law actually go into effect this summer. To help
consumers better understand how these changes effect them, the government has announced the creation of a new consumer information website on health
insurance options and access to healthcare. The site, healthcare.gov, is run be the Department of Health and Human Services.

With so much speculation running wild about the current health care reform bill - and what we will and won't have to do when it takes effect
- it can be hard to tell fact from fiction.
Those who are currently not insured will be required to purchase health-care insurance, but most will be eligible for government help
through subsidies. This help will be made available for qualifying individuals and families to assist in covering the cost of health-care insurance. The
exact amount of assistance that will be available is dependent upon your specific situation.
